The LDAP feature of SmarterMail is available to use with Barracuda. You will need to configure Barracuda's LDAP for each domain that it is filtering for.

 

The settings that will need to be configured are:

 

LDAP Server: <This is the DNS name or IP Address of SmarterMail>

LDAP Port: <Default is 389>

Exchange Accelerator/LDAP Verification: Yes

Bind DN: <This is a email address that is in the domain>

Bind Password: <Email account's password>

Valid Email (for testing): <Only will make sure that LDAP is functioning>

 

No other configuration should be needed.

 

**NOTE: Be aware that in the LDAP feature's current state, it will only verify true mailboxes. It will not verify Email Aliases and Mailing Lists.
