How To: Spam Filtering (Domain Level)

Note: If you are NOT a domain administrator, please refer to this article:
http://support.realwebs.com/KB/a18/how-to-spam-filtering-user-account.aspx

By default, the Spam filters here work like this.

Each piece of eMail is scanned and if suspected to be spam, it's probability of being spam is graded as Low, Medium and High.

eMail with a Low probability of being spam has 'SPAM-LOW' appended to the subject line and the email is then delivered to the recipients mailbox. The eMail is otherwise unaltered.

eMail with a Medium or High probability of being spam is placed in the users ONLINE Junk E-Mail folder.
NOTE: This mail IS NOT DELIVERED TO YOU when you check your eMail with Outlook, Safari, Eudora (or any other POP3 email client)

To retrieve mail from your Online Junk E-Mail folder, see this article:

To change the way Spam is processed for your domain:

From the Domain Settings drop down menu, select Domain Spam Filtering

Click the 'Override spam settings for this domain (the Default Settings display will disappear).

Click the Actions tab. (You will not be able to select this tab if Use default spam settings is selected above)
If you are not sure, we suggest you leave the Current Weights values as they are.
For more information on the types of filters used see:
http://support.realwebs.com/KB/a5/spam-low-spam-med-spam-high.aspx

The bottom section of the Actions tab will allow you to choose what action to take on any suspected spam.
The choices should be self-explanatory. Note that Delete message and Move to Junk E-Mail folder messages will never arrive on your desktop. Also note that these are the default settings for all your users, however each user can adjust these settings individually.

After making your changes, click Save.
Note that these settings are DOMAIN WIDE defaults.
